Fortress Peristera Peshtera Bulgaria 14/21

The fortress Peristera is located on the north side of the town. The origin of the name comes from greek language and means pigeon. The fortress consists of three belts fortress walls and six towers. The fortress dates back to IV century. The hill on which is the fortress is known as Saint Petka. The archeologists think that on that place has existed thracian sanctuary.
